This was a nicely built hotel and the staff were truly great, but, it was a new building and in an extremely cold area.
The dust in new construction air, along with the extreme cold, almost immediately dried my sinuses completely out. I eventually developed a full-blown sinus infection, I suspect from the irritation. I am still nursing that infection and it almost ruined my trip.
It was 12 degrees outside when I pulled in. There was a draft somewhere in the room, so, even though I had the temperature set to 76 (the highest it would let me set it to), it was far colder than 76 in the room, and it made it difficult to warm up when I'd come in from outside or take a hot shower, because the breeze in the room just kept recirculating the cold air from the draft. I had to wear two sets of clothes in the otherwise great room.
There was a restaurant inside that served espresso and some food. The food was okay, but the espresso was completely tasteless. It was like water. I admit, I'm a little demanding about my espresso, but anybody can sip that espresso and immediately know something is off with either the brew or the bean. The first day I got a latte expecting a balanced latte and I couldn't tell there was espresso in it. It just tasted like milk and sugar. So next, I got a cortado. Just tasted like milk and sugar. Eventually I ordered a double-shot of espresso with steamed milk on the side. Sipped the espresso and it tasted like coffee-flavored water.
