Homewood Suites by Hilton Athens Downtown University Area

I tried to check-in at the appropriate time (4pm) to go to my sons 5pm graduation service. My room was not ready until 4:50!!! I asked to see the manager and he wouldn't come out of his office. Another lady went through the exact same thing....I felt sorryforthe young lady at the front desk. Fortunately the sevices were almost nextdoor but it was not a good start for my stay to say the least. The manager should have at least addressed the situation. UNACCEPTABLE!!!

The room in this property was clean and I loved the amenities, such as the cookware and stove. The only problem I encountered was checking in, but it was more of a technical difficulty than a staff issue. Would recommend and would definitely return myself !

I liked the convenience of the location. My family and I was in Athens for daughter's dance competition. Due to schedule of daughter's dances, I had to change my checkin date. Although I wasn't "penalized ", It felt like I was penalized when I was billed an enormous weekend rate. I understand policies, but I didn't like the fact that no one told, text, or sent confirmation of the new room rate to me which would have given me the option to decide whether/ not I would accept the new rate. I was very shocked to get my bill for $473 upon checkout and to be told that since I changed my checkiin date, the new reservation was billed for the going weekend rate. If I was made aware ahead of time, I would have sought out other alternatives. I typically like staying at Homewood Suites, but I was really displeased with how this was handled. Secondly, the address on the billing statement is NOT my address. As a Hilton honors member, I want to get credit for my stay, but even more importantly is the PRIVACY of someone's personal information. I gave this a 3 rating as opposed to 4 due to the handling of my reservations & privacy concerns. Thank you for the opportunity to share my concerns.

The property is very clean with a nice staff. I arrived ;4 hours early from out of town and was lucky enough to be able to check in. The staff was great!! Would highly recommend this property for your stay in Athens.

quick one-night stay. Booked late as a result of cancellation with another hotel due to power outage. Smooth check-in process. Great complimentary breakfast. Room was clean and comfortable. Convenient location downtown.
