We booked to stay at this hotel, as when booking the accommodation my children saw photos online (***********) that they have a lazy river. They were very excited to stay here. Upon our arrival we were devastated to find out that they no longer have a lazy river! This is false advertisement and when I spoke to the receptionists about it they were rude and couldn’t have cared less. So to start off our stay we have 2 extremely disappointed children and I still have the pleasure of having to pay in excess of R9.500 … so you can understand my annoyance at having to pay for something that wasn’t there to start off with. Easy fix! Take the photos off the site! I’ve just checked and the photos are still up! This was just the beginning of a terrible stay for us. When checking in we were given 2 rooms that were far away from each other. Despite the fact that my booking was for a family of 4 … 2 adults, 2 children. When asked to change rooms so that we could try and enjoy a family holiday and be closer together I was once again met with rudeness from the receptionists … apparently I was asking too much. They did give us rooms closer together but not next door or even opposite. My husband and I split so one adult with each child. Then walking through the hotel corridors … the place stinks of smoke … stale smoke. It’s disgusting. To be fair the rooms were adequate and clean and didn’t smell of smoke inside … however you couldn’t leave the front door open as the smell from the corridor made its way inside. Normally when staying in hotels my family and I enjoy the hotel facilities (restaurants, bars, day spa, room service) … as we felt so poorly treated by the reception staff we decided that the hotel was not going to receive any more from us than what we absolutely had to pay (accommodation) and we made sure to go out for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Upon arriving back at the hotel after dinner on our first night, our room was infested with mosquitoes. All the windows and doors were shut so we have no idea where they came from. I immediately called reception to ask for someone to come to the room with insect repellent. After 15 minutes of waiting (and a further call to reception) my husband went out to the car to get our own. So probably 30 mins later still no staff to help fix the problem … we fixed it ourselves. Also upon arriving home from our holiday it was noted that the hotel had in fact double charged our credit card for our accommodation. So after the receptionist being so rude and virtually implying that I was a thief he then went ahead and double charged my cc … a month has passed since our stay and I am awaiting a refund. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel. It is extremely disappointing as this hotel is part of the Legacy Group …we have stayed with Legacy before and loved it. I have doubts about staying with them again.
