There were a few dead cockroaches around the room. The water came out yellow at first, so we had to let it run for a few minutes. We had a service animal (they asked for papers at check-in) and we were placed in a specific room, which was close to the grassy area on the first level. The room location was convenient, but there was a strong smoky smell that lingered our whole stay. The air conditioning unit was very loud and would cut on and off every couple minutes making loud banging noises that woke us up constantly throughout the night. We tried every setting; high, low, and auto, but nothing helped. The room’s insulation wasn’t great because we decided to turn the ac unit off to get a few hours of comfortable rest, but woke up about an hour in because the room went from 67 to 82, so we turned the ac back on. The beds were comfortable and felt clean. The linens and pillows had no stains and weren’t scratchy. The area surrounding the hotel wasn’t too bad, but we did walk to grab food for lunch around 1pm and passed by quite a few homeless and people vomiting/under the influence. I would suggest driving into the waterfront area for everything because it is a much nicer and safer area and only 5 mins away. There is no continental breakfast although it is listed on their sites. We opted for this hotel because it had breakfast, so we wouldn’t stay again. It was a reasonable stay for the inexpensive price, but you have to be mindful that you are getting exactly what you pay for.

Owner/front desk people couldn't have been nicer! Very clean and well-kept motel. Nothing is perfect, so I rarely give 5's.

The bed was clean and comfortable. Front desk person was friendly. There were little dead bugs all over the floor in the bathroom and the tub edge was dirty. Housekeeping needs improvement.

Better with the new owner. She makes sure her rooms are clean.

Nasty stunk breakers tripped on GFI receptacle frig not working checked out after 1st night paid for 3 that bad it is a construction worker hotel should be 45 a night or 175-200 a week

Very good hotel for the price. No frills. Clean room, Friendly owner. In-room refrigerator & microwave clean and in good condition.

I wasn't sure if I wanted to make a reservation for this hotel, since there were no reviews, but I'm glad that I did. This motel has recently been remodeled. Everything about this motel was OUTSTANDING. The Front Desk Staff were superb. Room was extremely clean. Great shower. The bed (mattress) was superb. (Next time I'm there, I'm going to ask what type of mattresses they use. Outstanding location. Many restaurants were very close, plus the downtown Historic area is very close. Highly Recommend this motel. Looking forward to returning.

Probably the best bed sheets I've ever slept in.

GOOD: This is my second stay at the Econo Lodge in the past 3 months (first was for 2 days this time for 3 days). Both time rooms were clean. My wife is a bug freak, so even after a through bug scan no bugs of any kind were found. Everything functioned (TV, AC, microwave, fridge, shower, etc..). Beds were comfortable for me, and I liked having 3 pillows per bed. NOT SO GOOD: The location is at a fairly busy intersection, so you do get some traffic noise, but other hotels in the area share the same problem. AC was also a little loud in this room, but actually helped me sleep. Bathrooms are on the small side, but usable.
