Don't waste your hard earned money at this place. The owners have lost total interest and therefore so have all staff members. You will see I very rarely write a bad review but felt it important to warn others about this resort so you don't have your holiday ruined like ours was. This was the first time we have ever considered moving to another hotel during our stay - we were so disappointed and sad by the service (or lack of) that we received. I don't know what has happened to this place since the excellent reviews from a few months ago but we were so upset that our 'luxury' Christmas trip spending our hard earned monies was here. There wasn't a guest staying at the resort that didn't agree with us. The list of issues is too long. The main things that you should know: Do not stay here if you have dietary requirements or allergies. We emailed in advance to inform them that I was vegetarian. When we arrived they acted as if they didn't know - our first meal was Christmas day evening meal - and all I could have was some grated carrots and lettuce. Nothing was made for me. The staff promised 'to make this up to us'. They did nothing of the sort. They continued to offer me meat and act surprised when I reminded them I was vegetarian. Worse than this they fed another guest fruit that she was allergic too and she had a terrible reaction. The next day they offered her the same fruit. Honestly, they are clueless. The owners have no interest in the enjoyment of the guests. In fact they spend each evening going around the guests tables complaining about their financial difficulties, staffing difficulties, water supply difficulties. It's not what you want to hear when on holiday. Not once did they ask how our holiday was. In fact not once did any staff member ask how our stay was. The service is non existent. We often had no towels in our room. At one point we had no toilet roll for 2 days despite asking multiple staff members. We had to take some from the restaurant toilet and then our fellow guests offered to share theirs with us. The hotel arranged trips are also a total rip off - just don't organise them through the resort. There are much better options. Don't let this review put you off the beautiful island of Taveuni though - just don't spend your money with this resort and you will have a great holiday!

We were hoping a sense of adventure and relaxation to start off our honeymoon and Taveuni Island Resort was just that! From the moment we arrived at the airport, we were greeted by our driver to shuttle us to the resort. We were able to make the most of our time in Taveuni with quick and easily set up excursions often with a private guide or with another couple. We were treated like family our entire stay, and felt warmly welcome with all the staff greeting us by name. The food was amazing! I have never tasted papaya quite like I had in Taveuni. Our bure was large and had exceptional ocean views from the cliffside. We would highly recommend this island and resort for any special occasion or vacation desires.

This is a wonderful little resort with 3 cottages (Bure). They have the best food on the island by reputation and we agree it was all delicious. We stayed in Mango Bure with a view of the ocean from our bed and a lovely outdoor shower. There is no air conditioning, but none is needed. We slept very well. The staff made sure we had everything we needed for a perfect stay. Stay at Coconut Grove Resort if you have a chance. You will love it.

This place is amazing!!! Best place on the island to stay. Right on water with amazing views. The staff is above and beyond and the owners are wonderful. Choose a newer villa if you can because their layout is fantastic. Breakfasts and soups are fantastic!! If you want a first-class villa with an amazing view and over the top service this is your place!!

As soon as you walk through the rod iron gates on the property you realise how special this place is. Do, Rick, and Storm met us with a frozen mocktail and a warm welcome. When you make your way through the dinning house to the porch you will truely be struck with the beauty of the view from the porch. The staff always greeted us with a welcoming smile. Our room was amazing with a living area, indoor and outdoor shower, bedroom, bathroom, and porch. The villa was on the edge of a cliff with the most incredible view of the ocean. The meals were all included and were carefully prepared to our request. The property does have their own farm that they source from. They made us a backpack lunch for days we were not at the resort at lunch. The staff helped arrange cabs to the different areas of interest such as the Pearl Farm and the Baumé Falls. June, Millie, Sovea, Sunil we’re so great at making our stay unique and special. We also met Amy and Matthew who run the farm and also live on the property. We would love to return. This place is a gem!

My wife and I just returned from our week long Honeymoon at Taveuni Island Resort, and it overwhelmingly exceeded our expectations. We stayed in the Lomalagi Villa, which had a panoramic ocean and garden view from every room and from the expansive patio. The villa itself was beautiful, clean, spacious, and luxurious. From the beautiful canopy bed to the outdoor shower, we did not want to leave the villa and spent many hours lounging around together. We are almost every meal at the resort, and as others have already mentioned, the food gets 5 stars on its own. So many delicious soups, and entrees ranging from chicken kabobs to blackened fish and much more. We also took advantage of the spa and booked a couples massage, which was the perfect way to relax after a day of diving. Lastly, the staff and owners are all so friendly and down to earth. They do a variety of roles around the resort, and their efforts show through the service and consistent beauty of the resort. Ric and Do are so sweet, it was an absolute pleasure to interact with them. Shoutout to Storm and her team for an awesome guest experience, and shout out to Raymond for amazing service and helping us book some special activities. Through our activities we visited a few other resorts on the island, and I always felt happy to return to Taveuni Island Resort each day. I highly recommend staying here if you are planning to visit Taveuni!
