Such a shame that this once beautiful hotel has been terribly neglected. We have stayed here many times, however this visit shocked us. Forget about building 7 new rooms when you not bothered maintaining the ones you already have. The room needs a good paint, another beside table and the toilet was absolutely disgusting... at £164 per night this is unacceptable! I should be able to use the toilet in my room and I shouldn't have to put the kettle on the floor as there is no plug socket on the windowsill where it sits, nor a bedside table? The breakfast was OK. I think the name change is appropriate, this is a club definitely not the establishment it once was.

We (Wife, 17yr boy, 11yr girl and I) attend a wedding here and stayed 2 nights (Tuesday, Wednesday) and the only reason I didn’t give it a 1 was because of the staff who tried really hard (other than the miserable man who booked us out on Thursday morning he needs to go on a course in public relations). I paid nearly £500 for 2 nights here, got to the room it had a double bed nothing for the kids to sleep on, late in the night they decided to put 2 small fold out camp beds which just about accommodated my 11yr old and my 17yr old looked like something from a cartoon with his legs hanging over the edge, plus they took up all the room so we had to play the maze game to get to the bathroom. The windows had cobwebs, the bathroom dirt around the the toilet edge and floor (we cleaned all this ourselves). The starters came out in drips and drabs and we waited over 40 mins for our main courses which where wrong even though we pre ordered and while we waited there was no bread or water on the tables, the steak burger was a very small beef burger and the chicken burger looked like something from Coops freezer range, but the pork chop did looked and tasted OK. This place is more than likely OK if you came here’s as a couple but for a party I would avoid it, if It wasn’t for the fact it was a wedding I was attending I would have complained and if nothing was done I would have left without paying and found somewhere else for nearly £500 for 2 nights.

Played golf today with my Son, the course was fair but, bunkers that are no longer in use are just left to become overgrown and not filled in as they should be, the terrain of the course makes it virtually impossible to remain on the fairways and the holes on the greens had not been cut properly with all holes being raised from the green making putting awkward. A shame really as a lot of work has gone in to improving facilities and accommodation but the upkeep of the course needs improvement.

We had a one night stay before flying out from Lands End airport to the Isles of Scilly. Staff were extremely helpful and we were looked after very well, nothing too much trouble . The breakfast was extremely good with local produce used. They are making many improvements which obviously involves building works. This did not impact on our time there. Please don’t let that put you off. The views are fantastic from the outside screened terrace.

The food was fabulous, service amazing and the pool was an added bonus. Only snag was the weatjer wasnt great for our trip but that didnt stop us from enjoying ourselves. Amazing location- weather rolls in and out very fast. Scenery fab and beautiful views of massive rolling waves.

My wife booked an overnight surprise stay as part of my 60th birthday 🥳 celebrations. On arrival there was a lot of building works being undertaken and the carpark was potholed. Initially our room key couldn’t be found but friendly staff found us an alternative room but unfortunately it wasn’t clean debris on the bed so after consulting with the receptionist we were upgraded to the family room which was acceptable. We decided to use the pool before going out the gents changing room had no lockers with keys and the pool was very gritty on returning to the changing rooms which was dirty floor very unclean and full of decorating materials paint and ladders the showers all ran cold so quick run back to the room to shower. The breakfast and staff friendliness the following day made up for the first day - best breakfast I have eaten local fresh produce and the young lad whom served us was exemplary. Great location and could easily attract 5 stars if the web site told visitors that building works were being undertaken and cleanliness addressed especially in communal areas changing rooms pool etc I didn’t let these minor oversights spoil my stay and was glad the breakfast made up for the aforementioned issues.

Stayed for 2 nights out of season & had a lovely time exploring the surrounding coastline. Room was spacious & very clean. Food was Excellent! Staff were very welcoming & friendly. Unfortunately the leisure facilities were a bit tired, but that didn't spoil our stay there. Fantastic location in a very unspoilt part of Cornwall. Will definitely return.

We came for a round of 18 today, the course has some great views but most of the greens were temporary and made it a real pain to putt on, fairways looked like they hadn’t been cut for a while and were covered in daisy’s making it a pain to find your ball, would probably be much better in summer but we’re nearly in may and would’ve expected better conditions, especially comparing other courses around.
