西沃德酒店(Hotel Seward)

The staff was not helpful, the bathrooms down the hall were fine and I have often stayed in places with this arrangement but the are not enough for all the rooms. There are no amenities at this hotel, no coffee maker in your room, no refrig, no nothing. They don't clean the rooms while you stay there. Would not recommend or return.

I THOUGHT it looked quaint and cute on the site. But that was only if you were in the historic section. The section they put me in was dirty, old, VERY hot!! Couldn't open the window because I was on the first floor. Only 6 channels worked on the TV. I went to a local restaurant and was told all my complaints are quite common, I watched Cable at the Highliner restaurant with no issues. There was a lady living there it seemed with her dog that kept smoking right outside the door and it went through the whole hallway. YUCK! The restaurant still says it's open, but has been closed for 2 weeks. Classic Bait and Switch but unfortunately I was already paid in full.

Meh. Not worth the price. It’s pretty rundown and shabby. The room was dirty from previous occupants - bits of this and that scattered about, murky water in the ice bucket, errant pills and hair ties under the night stand, light bulbs burned out, among other small grievances that just add up to a unsatisfying stay. The door does not close on its own and there was a large gap between the bottom and floor that let in light and sound. One can hear a great deal of activity in the rooms next door and above. Judging by the other hotels in Seward this probably isn’t the worst but it does not live up to reasonable expectations of cleanliness. Upsides we’re that the mattress was comfortable and the water pressure and temperature were both reliable.

A Seward mainstay! I’ve stayed several times and have some good memories over the years. While the rooms are a little dated, they’re clean and relatively comfortable, although the bed pillows are in short supply and could also use an update. Also, as with most hotels, it’s too easy to hear other guests in the hallways, etc. Fridge, microwave, and coffee maker in the room are much appreciated, as is the easy parking. You really can’t go too wrong with choosing Hotel Seward.

This hotel was so nice. The history on the inside was wonderful. Truly an Alaskan experience the minute you walked in the door. Yolanda was so friendly and shared some of the hotel history with us. We will recommend the Hotel Seward to all our friends and family who plan to visit Seward.

Es un hotel muy típico de Alaska (antiguo), tiene muchos especímenes cazados (los cuales nunca verás vivos por la zona, así que aprovecha para unas fotos). Creo que podría tener una remodelación y estar más moderno. Los cuartos de 2 camas no tienen baño privado y lo malo es que lo compartes con los visitantes del bar. Está ubicado “en el centro” por lo que una calle atrás encontrarás tiendas y restaurantes. La gente que atiende es muy amable. Tienen servicio gratis de transporte al tren y a los cruceros y te cuidan la maleta 😃

Super nice folks. Rooms are definitely dated and oddly setup. Bed was creaky and noisy but surprisingly comfortable. Odd that bedside lamps are four feet from side of bed. Room amenities are coffee, fridge and microwave which is nice. Convenient to restaurants and the wharf. Overall a good stay.

The building has some cool history and in its glory days was probably very nice. The bedding and decor is outdated and our first floor window latch was broken. The staff were reprimanded in front of me on two occasions and no one seemed happy to be there. It’s probably not fair to judge the hotel based on location but Seward was the only area we visited that was depressing and we wanted to leave.
