We only stayed for one night, and it was pleasant and the staff were helpful. I took advantage of the modest workout room. Breakfast had good options for different dietary needs. Just a couple minor inconveniences: 1) Our keycards didn't work in the morning and they only fixed one of them instead of both, and 2) The cleaning staff left the tub and sink drains plugged, so they unexpectedly filled up with water while I was waiting for the temperature to get hot. The $50 deposit has not yet been refunded, so hopefully there won't be any issues I have to deal with on that end.

The hotel was excellent, very comfortable, clean, convenient - a great stay! The only thing, as someone who adheres to a vegan diet, there was not much to eat at breakfast, and the staff wasn't even sure if the bread was vegan or not. There were no vegetables at all, but some cereal and a little bit of fruit (and then meat/eggs/dairy which I could not touch). Plus it was all paper plates and plastic cutlery, so that felt a little awkward/out of place for a nice luxurious hotel like this one. So yeah the breakfast experience could be upgraded to match the rest! :)

A nice visit to Santa Cruz and good stay at Fairfield took a bad turn when our room key cards were deactivated. We had been at the beach in the morning and came back for a swim to find our keys not working. Went back to the lobby to sort this out. The line of guests forming at the desk heard the receptionist on the phone for some time. When the receptionist was finished on the phone, he came out to a line people...and then took another phone call. I waited patiently in line and finally was helped by the receptionist. He suggested the cards were near a cell phone and deactivated. We travel quite a lot and are aware of this, therefore, we never keep key cards near our phones. After sorting out the cards, I asked for a late check out. Over 30 minutes of precious time had been wasted sorting out the keys and we were looking forward to visiting the pool. The receptionist clearly stated "no late check out". So I went back to the hallway in front of our room and told my family that there was now no time for the pool and we should get ready and check out. This news did not go well. At check out, the same receptionist was at the desk. I asked the receptionist about the "Fairfield Guarantee". He had no idea what I was talking about. I showed him these words are literally on the door of the hotel. He still had no idea what the words meant. Then he went on to say there was a problem with key cards being deactivated and late check out was for Elite Marriott members. I used to be Elite

I loved the location. It is about a mile walk to the Natural Bridges beach, which has pedestrian access off Natural Bridges Drive. This hotel looks very new and clean. I loved the beds and large bathroom. It’s located in a side street which is very quiet. While we did hear the fan machine for the room, if not on, and the window was open, it was very quiet outside. The continental breakfast had boiled eggs, waffles you can make fresh, some fruit options, yogurt, oatmeal, several bagel and toast options, and packaged breakfast foods(sausage sandwich, egg quiche). Room has all the necessities to help you save and reheat leftovers 👍 We saw there’s a farmers market on Saturdays within a block of this hotel-which would be great to check out if the timing works. Overall-great experience. Would stay here again and again.

front desk greeted us with food in her mouth - then, room was not clean - oil and smudges on the bathroom countertop, beds looked like someone sat on them, hair in sink - and the front desk said there were no other rooms and nothing she could do -we asked if she had alcohol wipes and she said we could come down and get some

Attractive and clean lobby and spacious and clean room! Loved the view from the third floor and the free breakfast and parking. We’re so glad we decided to not to stay on the boardwalk since it was quieter yet it was still a very short drive everywhere we wanted to go. We didn’t use the small but liked the clean and open space we of the gym. Definitely recommend this hotel in Santa Cruz.

Very nice hotel - clean, comfortable, with ample free parking. Area felt safe. Be aware that there is a school next door, and the drive is partially blocked around 0730-0830 for drop-off. Would certainly stay here again if in the area.
