Diving is out of this world. A visit to verde island is an absolute must. Some of the best diving in the world. Tons of macro and medium life and turtles. Staff super friendly. Kudos to dive staff who were wonderful. Food was superb with great variety for all meals. Night diving was fantastic as was the black water dive if you have not done that before. The only reason I didn’t give a five was the room accommodations. Rooms were small with little space to put clothes or other stuff. If rooming with a buddy be prepared to share space and give up some privacy. Just a little bigger than a live aboard. Most rooms had a lot of steps so you managed what you took from or to your room. If steps are an issue get the higher numbered rooms. Be prepared for the souvenir hawkers. They will befriend you then pester you to buy souvenirs all week long. Ignore or respond as you see fit but they are quite friendly. Good customer relations. However the diving made up for a lot. Overall a wonderful experience.

My first diving experience in the Philippines and I can only say that Atlantis is a fantastic place to stay. I had been given a heads up through diving network of others that had stayed/dived with Atlantis. Diving is phenomenal and the dive operations at Puerto Galera are A+. We were a large group, divided among the smaller boats - our divemaster - Felix - was fantastic. Very patient as we all got oriented after the long trip - showed us amazing underwater things that we would have probably never found on our own. Once you gear up - you do not touch your BC again until diving. Staff carry your BC/tank to and from the boat each day/dive. Nitrox readings were very consistent each day. Dive briefings before every dive with graphics of site and expectations. Verde Island is a must - now it my number 1 favorite lifetime dive. The abundance and richness of the underwater world in this area is a sight to see and was worth every mile and dime to get there. Resort staff was wonderful as well - I was a bit worried before the trip about food options - not a problem at all. Good variety and quantity at each meal. Can only drink filtered water - there is a bottle provided in your room and you can refill at the dive shop or restaurant. Or refill your own bottle that you may bring. Rooms are tight - I had a single room over the bar area - great for one person. Oh and the bar is great for evening hang outs. Not a lot of "lounging" areas - just a few chairs by the pool that get taken quickly. But - you will be busy diving!

I've just returned from my second visit here. The Atlantis PG is a fantastic experience if you are a diver. It's about 2.5 hours from NAIA in Manila; Atlantis will pick you up there and get you to PG. It's run with attention to detail and the managers are on site, very visible and interactive with the resort guests. The entire staff is warm, smiling, very friendly and attentive to detail. Rooms are large and comfortable; aircon and wi-fi are strong. You might need a day or 2 to get used to the "Flintstone" motif, but I came to like it. Dining at the house restaurant Toko's is delightful every meal. Dive shop is very well run; staff, boat captains, DM's are excellent. Tank fills were consistently 2950-3050 PSI; Nitrox was consistently 31.5-33%. Boats are small and fast. With the exception of Verde Island, all the dive sites are within 1-15 minutes of the resort. Verde Island is the crown jewel of PG and you must not miss it. It's a 1 hour banca ride from the resort. You'll have 3 dives and a great lunch. At PG you will see great reefs teeming with a wildly diverse mix of nudi's, small to medium sized fish, turtles, eels. They will do a few afternoon muck dives. There are a few small wrecks. Most of the dives are max 70 feet depth. Most sites had mild if any current. A few dives were really wild rides; it depends on the the tides. If you want bigger critters, go to Tubatahha. If you want more muck diving, go to Dumaguete. I did not get any massages at the spa, but my friends who did said that they were great. There is a nice fresh water pool too. Sabang Beach has really been cleaned up. The ratty old beach is gone; there is a new concrete seawall and boulevard with good lighting since I was last there in 2019. Wanna give special recognition to GM Rey, dive ops manager Norm, restaurant manager Ogie, my DM Van, my DM and boat captain Jef, front desk staff Melba and Hazel, Toko's staff Camille, Vonna, Janessa, Nicole and Gemma. They made my trip extraordinary. I apologize to the many Atlantis staff whose names I've overlooked. Their company slogan is "Arrive as a guest, leave as a friend." They mean it. I'm already planning my return.
