皮克頓蓋維汽車旅館(Picton Accommodation Gateway Motel)

Requested for room on ground floor as recovering from hip surgery, as doctor advised against bending more than 90 degrees. Not reply to request. At check in, noticed there were rooms on ground floor so tried asking if there were any available and I'd be happy to pay the difference to get one of them. Only to get a curt 'No' before i could complete my question. Climbed up with bags and all to find a sad looking room. Size was alright, just furnishings were old and worse, cups, plates and toaster covered with dust. Oh, and for some reason, the shower cabin looks like it was installed on top of an old bath tub so you need to take a step of more than 50cm to climb up. Definitely beyond me. No bedside powerpoints and very weak wifi. Wanted a hotel near the pier (which this definitely is) but there are other options across the street and even behind...

The unit has no WiFi signal due to the distance to WiFi source and staff not willing to switch to any room closer. She insisted we have to pay more to a room closer since it is an upgrade.

Generally it was fine. We were a bit shocked when we were asked to pay an extra $20 when checking in. We were stopped at the parking space to clean up the room when there were only 2 tissues on the floor, the staff claimed that there might be a risk of covid. Extraordinary.

Since many bikers with noisy machines stayed at the motel, there was no rest. the bed was old and not comfortable, the kitchenette very small and simple. some of the tiles in the bathroom were broken. all needs a extensiv refreshing. not the money worth. only positiv thing: the laundry and the host, who was always helpfull and friendly.

We love staying here, love the balcony units. Very clean and have everything you need. Beach, restaurants, liquor store & supermarket all within walking distance.

Hotel is in a great location and very clean but the step into the shower is very hazardous. The step is quite high and no handrail to help you enter or exit. Potential accident waiting to happen.

What a crock, I changed the night I was staying, arrived and was told if I wanted to stay would have to pay again, totally disgusted , walked out and went to another motel

Not a bad place to stay, easy to find and service at the main office was good, air conditioning coming into summer would be recommended, and its a little dated however the price we paid was very fear based on the things mentioned above.
