紅衣主教酒店(Cardinal Hotel)

We love this hotel but be prepared for the street noise - you may need earplugs for the 4:00 AM garbage trucks on Monday morning and for the smaller rooms and bathrooms of an old downtown hotel. That said - the location is incredibly convenient, staff is outstanding, period decor and architecture is lovely, and it is just ten minutes from the Stanford medical center.

Incredible staff, went above and beyond with room and overall arrangements. The mattress and bedding are some of the most comfortable I've slept on in any hotel in any country! Perfect location to all. If you are a light sleeper, take note that you will hear the people above you if you stay on the second floor, since it is a historic hotel with wood floors.

The hotel has an old time feel which is charming Ina certain sense, but a little run down feeling at the same time. And my room had a weird smell on it when I arrived (which was basically addressed by opening my window for the day while I was out)

We enjoyed an outstanding experience at the Cardinal Hotel. Location, area and proximity to Stanford Stadium were perfect. The staff was kind and attentive. The breakfast at Maxine’s Bistro was excellent.

Front desk was super friendly and the room I got was very comfortable. I love the charm and character of the hotel and the room was updated and very clean. Thanks for providing ear plugs - definitely heard the downtown noise but you provided something to counter it.

Old world charm in the heart of downtown. If you like a hotel with an interesting history that takes you back to the 1920’s and 30’s, Stay here. Ride the very old (but not scary) elevator or take the stairs that don’t creak ( but you wish they did.)

The hotel charged me post check out for odor in the room. The a/c unit and ventilation was very poor. We opened the window for a long period to get some air. We did not complain as we were not in the room for long and did not want to make such a hassle. They then said there was odor in the room and said we smoked in the room. They have charged USD 250 to my credit card. I have emailed them but have not for a reply. Hope ******* follows up for me.

NOT QUIET!!! Garbage 7-7:30am, loud bottle banging middle of night, LIVE music starting 7pm (on a Monday!). NO air conditioning so you have to keep the window open. NO hot water midday. Requested room change twice. Finally got a room change which happened to be louder than the original room. We kept the old room due to time and no possible refund to switch hotels. Disappointing stay.
