格言酒店(Hotel Maxim)

Tappa di riposo dall'Italia verso Cluj, ottimo albergo, pulito, organizzato, personale molto cordiale e disponibile, posizione in centro città, camera comoda, spaziosa con vista sulla piscina. Ristorante molto apprezzato con buone scelte ed ottimi prodotti. Colazione abbondante. Parcheggio un pochino stretto ma c'è.

We didn’t stay in the hotel, but we did go for a family lunch to the restaurant. Sadly, I have to say it was a great disaster. The waiter has no place to be near people and no, it wasn’t his first day, no need to worry. Dare I say, when it takes 20-25 minutes to take and place an order it’s nevet a godd sign (we should have left at that point imediatley, that was our fault). The dear boy came back first to let us now that they don’t have a certain dish. That happens everywhere, no problem, but you should at least bring a menu so we can choose something else! After another 20 minutes when we got the drinks, but not enough glasses for the water (that’s REALLY below standard), he told us that they don’t have one of the drinks we ordered. So we asked for another lemonade instead, that was tasteless so we had to ask them to “retouch” it at least a bit. So then after 40 exciting minutes we got every drink we ordered, after came one appetizer. So far, not so good, but acceptable. Then (while we still had empty plates on the table), came the main dishes, 4 out of 5 dishes, because the waiter forgot to one of them. The food was fairly good, I ordered a grilled salmon, that had a burnt skin, which for me is the best part in a smoked salmon, but it happens, I accepted. We finished eating, still waiting for the forgotten main dish, that came after another 30 minutes whithout the garnish! We tried to order 3 desserts, of course they didn’t have everything, we even tried asking the waiter what they had, not with much luck because the waiter didn’t even know what was on the menu! :)) Another 20 minutes for the desserts, the lava cake didn’t have “lava”, it was overcooked, the chestnut pure was good, because it’s a frozen product. And at a empty restaurant, after too many mistakes the waiter didn’t even bother to pay a little more attention to us, instead he took a sit in the bar. As a conclusion, if you love the anticipation to wait for this amazing “really slow food” (their new thing in their cuisine), to have everything messed up for you when you are trying to have a good time, ask for Andrei. And I wouldn’t say anything, if at the top of the door they didn’t have 4 stars! P.S: if your staff is not trained, I am happy to help. If that’s not the case, just let go of them…

It was a very pleasant stay. The hotel is close to the city center. The room is big enough, well equipped , with interesting architecture. Multiple choices for breakfast and tasty food a la carte.

The hotel is on a quiet street not far from the elegant Art Nouveau centre of town.We had a large “ superior” room with balcony at the front.It was cool and comfortable and large with plenty of storage and good lighting. I was disappointed to find no bath- the fire escape plan showed that the architect had intended one. Food and service were very good in the evening.An excellent breakfast was let down by inferior dilute fruit juice from a machine.The rear garden terrace was attractive ,and the staff were considerate enough to serve dinner outside to a family with a noisy infant. I did not travel by car, but I noted that the underground garage looked very tight.

The quality-price ratio is not justified because all the furniture is outdated, the pool is not properly arranged (lack of sunbeds). Although the description mentions a spa center, in reality they do not work. Very good breakfast, very hospitable staff.

The rooms are spacious, but the furniture is somewhat "retro" and outdated—the same with the dining room. However, the terrace gives really relaxing vibes. The hotel is nearby the city center (walking zone), and around the 2nd corner is a small shopping center with a grocery shop, and some quick-service restaurants. Breakfast was good, except for the lack of fresh juice or at least a better quality bottled one, it was a normal good hotel breakfast (eggs, cereals, bacon, salami, fruit, cheese, vegetable, coffee...) But my stay at the hotel was perfect primarily because of the staff, their quick response, and their willingness to help. I was arriving late at night and was worried about how I will safely get to the hotel from the airport. I booked hotel's airport transfer service. The receptionist Alin was answering my emails fast and with a friendly tone and during the following days he was extremely helpful with all my questions and requests. He was doing his job with a big smile.

Das Hotel liegt nache der Sehenswürdigkeiten. Sehr ruhiges Quartier. Mit dem Auto nicht leicht zu finden, da überall Einbahnstrassen. Parkplatz vor dem Haus vorhanden (Einfahrt in die Garage sehr eng). Von hier aus ist die ganze Stadt zu Fuss erreichbar. In unmittelbarer Nähe Restaurants und Einkaufsmöglichkeiten. Das Restaurant kommt langsam in die Jahre. Zimmer in ausreichender Grösse. Kühlschrank vorhanden. Teppich hat Gebrauchsspuren, das Wasser lief nicht richtig in der Dusche ab und 1 von 2 Nachttischlampen ging nicht. Alter grosser Speisesaal. Frühstücksbuffet war ok. Am ersten Tag streickete die alte Kaffeemaschine nach jedem 2 Kaffee und man musste warten, bis das Personal kam und den Kaffee von Hand machte. Das Hotel lebt davon, dass es einen Pool hat. Aber eher 2-3 Sterne statt 4
