奧本灣酒店(Oban Bay Hotel)

Insufficient parking for size of hotel. Mattress long past its useful service life. No tools to eat seafood in restaurant. No lift too upper floors. Asked to wait 80 minutes for a table for our breakfast so we went to Costa instead. One of our worst ever hotel experiences & we are not chronic complainers.

The car park area was a little remote and we didn’t feel it was a secure place to leave the car. The hotel itself was good and everywhere was very clean. Breakfast was included in the price which we didn’t know about (good news!) and there was a wide selection of great sounding food on the menu. Service was good and staff were friendly.

Parking is hopeless, some fool with a Range Rover left his car right in the middle of the drop of point to the front of the hotel and never moved his car, he left it there the whole day and night. The hotel staff should have dealt with that. Meanwhile others had to park several hundred yards away in the rain in a muddy carpark behind the church.

Great location. Easy check in with friendly helpful staff. Room was clean with everything we needed.

Awful experience. Despite being advertised and booked with parking for our 3 rooms there is only 2 accessible spaces and 2 EV spaces. The receptionist was unapologetic. We had to park in the public car park a 5 min walk away. When we asked to book dinner after checking in (and walking back from the car park) we were advised the restaurant was full that evening. Tried to book breakfast for the following morning but only limited late availability so couldn’t. We wanted to use the sauna and spa but as it was only available if booked and the weekend we were there was fully booked we weren’t able to. Not to mention the tiny room and ridiculously low water pressures, it was a truly appalling stay. At over £200 per room per night that is totally unacceptable.

We booked the hotel to finish off a camping tour of Scotland with a bit of luxury and we were not disappointed! The place looks amazing and location wise is perfect, you get a great view of the bay and with the weather we’ve had the sunset was amazing. We booked the Spa day as well which was really good, the hot tub facilities were amazing and again overlooked the bay. Most importantly I have to say a massive thank you to Dana who was majorly helpful in a bit of a secret mission I had to get a certain ring from a jewellers in Leeds up to the hotel last minute which lets just say made my future wife extremely happy later on! Thank you!

Beautiful hotel right next to the water, friendly staff who could not do enough to make your stay pleasant. My only critisism would be the amount of stairs we had to lug our suitcases up

Not what we expected. Hotel needs updated . Very expensive for what you got.

No onsite parking. The staff is really why the poor review. Extremely uninformative, unhelpful, and rude. The room was very nice with a great view, but the bed was so lumpy and uncomfortable. Food was pretty good, just make sure you double confirm your booking because we had some issues. It’s way overpriced for what you get, the parking is really problematic, and the staff really just made our stay unenjoyable.
