used another app to book a room here, what a dump, in all my years of traveling this was the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at initially we were given a tiny smelly room with a full size bed, went to the front desk late that night to complain and was given a bigger room with a queen size bed the queen size bed was propped up on loose pieces of wood, the shower had mislabeled water controls that also changed from hot to cold on their own The front of the hotel looks like it’s abandoned and falling apart I would not stay here ever again

UNSAFE. There is strong odor of gas in the hotel's front stairwell. I reported this to the Front Desk staff and they refused to contact the authorities to investigate. I asked multiple times. I did not feel safe in this building. Staff first claimed the smell was present off-and-on for years, and claimed they did not smell it. Three of us all smelled the strong gas smell, however. Staff said they did not want to have this investigated as to not disturb the other guests. I checked out immediately and had to find another hotel. My friends also staying in this hotel checked out. Auberge Le Pomerol refused to refund me. Only AFTER we all checked out and booked other hotels did they decide to contact the utility company to check for a gas leak. I don’t know what resulted with that, but their refusal to check for a gas leak after multiple guests reported the smell of gas in a stairwell is shockingly negligent. Avoid.

The location is fantastic, close to Metro and walkable to many amenities and attractions. The rooms were small but clean and functional and quiet. The front desk staff were warm and helpful with any and all questions.

Pleasant and convenient place to stay in Montreal. Opposite Berri metro station and round the corner from the long distance bus station. Nice room and bathroom. Friendly staff. Good restaurants nearby. No breakfast is provided but they directed us to a good bakery on Rue St Hubert.

Besides being in one of the worst neighborhoods in Montreal, there is no place to park your car, and our room was never made up nor did we get fresh towels, even after asking. This hotel has around 30 rooms and only 12 are occupied during a very busy week here in Montreal where every other hotel is full or close to full. That should tell you something. The only reason I am here is because the hotel I originally booked had a flood and we were sent here by them. Never again!!!

24-hr desk staff went above and beyond. Directly across from Metro so getting around was a breeze. Room was clean but simple: no microwave or fridge but there was coffee service. AC and heat both worked superbly. Neighborhood was great, from lively park with live music and great people-watching to a huge *****tore and grocers steps away. For the price it is a clean, comfortable, safe place.

This has to be, by far, the worst possible hotel we’ve ever stayed in in our years of travelling. Apart from the fact that this hotel is in the worst part of town (with junkies doing ***** in the open. Yes, we unfortunately did witness this within 30 minutes of arrival), this hotel should or must be closed on the spot, if visited by hotel inspectors! What a shock when our taxi pulled out in front of it! This hotel might have been nice perhaps 20 years ago but that is definitely no longer the case. The photos on the website of *********** are certainly not representative of the actual hotel unless photoshopped! There is currently a strap holding the parapet wall of the entrance, on the brink of collapsing (see photos attached). It is filthy, with rubbish littering the floor and dirty patches throughout the carpet. These are noticeable from the entrance to the reception and throughout the corridors. We quickly made the decision to shorten our stay (from 3 nights to 1) upon arrival after feeling deceived by the photos and comments (which suspisciously are made from people living in Montreal! Are they paid to make such positive comments? Why else ?!). We spent the first 10 min at the hotel looking for another place to stay. The receptionist became rude, unprofessional, and defensive when informed that we were unwilling to stay more than a night because the hotel was simply not up to our standard and certainly did not resemble what we had booked online. He still proceeded to take 483 CAD of deposit, knowing that there was absolutely nothing in the rooms, not even any heating. It took us nearly 2 weeks to get the money back from the bank! With regard to the actual rooms, we booked 2, one was in the basement with no windows! Warning for those who are claustrophobic! The other was on the 3rd floor, this time the window was so filthy that it was impossible to see through it! The floor and bed covers were dirty, the pillow flat and the lift stops suddenly and abruptly. What a squalid hotel! How callous and dishonest to advertise such a pigsty! *********** representatives should pay them a visit to see for themselves! We would rather sleep on a bench in the Metro than stay ever again in such a sleazy, shabby and abhorrent place.
