Nice place good pub across the road cheap meals

Great location in West Mackay - large sized studio with king bed, roomy bathroom & breezy patio. Excellent value for money compared to competition. Lovely reception staff & secure undercover parking. Some musical night noise from pub on corner, but with patio doors closed & air con running, no problem sleeping. Room had minor blemishes (stains on carpet) but overall very clean.

Ok place to stay in Mackay, Room was not serviced for 6 nights, carpets are stained, No eating in, cooking or gym facilities. Just a microwave & fridge. So have to eat out every night. Looks like it may have bern great when new, but pretty run down now. However, price is Ok and location is good.

I recently travelled to this region on business and stayed for 4 nights. Whilst it was OK, it wasn’t an outstanding experience. the odour in the studio rooms was unpleasant (musty) and whilst it was clean and comfortable, for the price it was disappointing. We had a number of rooms and all the studio rooms had the same odour. The BBQ was unusable due to the state of he plate, and even if we could have used it, anything other than plastic is not permitted in the area, making it impossible to use the provided plates to eat from.. I was told by reception that I would need to go and buy plastic plates to use.

Excellent spacious room, with accessible balcony and a large comfortable bed. No restaurant facility but very convenient to some great local facilities. Pool, Gym, Foxtel, Wifi are all available. Per oaks standards the single lift is slow but effective enough.

We loved our stay at The Oaks. The location was great. The rooms are clean and very spacious. Having an ensuite was a bonus and a pool to cool off in was great too. Full size fridge and washing machine plus dishwasher made it easy to cater for a family. We’ll be back!

Unfortunately our room was very unkept. The room itself was tidy, but there were stains all over the carpet and the lounge seat cover could not even be done up. The lamp shade in the lounge room and main bedroom had splash stains on them. Very disappointed for an Oaks hotel. We were booked for a second visit on our return trip, but we have since cancelled and booked elsewhere.
