Checked in to hotel. Was warned that room won't be able to be cleaned due to worker shortage. Thought, OK, no big deal. I am only staying for 2 days, and will be out most of the time. I open my hotel room door and the bed is unmade, used towels are in the bathroom. I was OK with not having the room made up, had no idea that my room would be dirty when I got there. Luckily, as I was leaving the next morning. There was a maid nearby, I begged to clean my room. My room wasn't on her list, but she did clean my room. That maid is the only reason I left a semi-positive review. Big props to her, hotel management, not so much. Will be quite a while before I ever check into another Marriott.
