公爵黑德酒店(Dukes Head Hotel)

Was a very nice hotel. Everything we needed as a family of 3 except we were in room 100 and it was right next to the lift. Every time the loft moved and the doors opened you could hear everything.. it was all evening and from very early in the morning. We had to sleep with the TV on to drown out the continuing sound.

The staff were extremely helpful & the room was very clean. The room was a little on the small side for a double room. It was difficult to get out of bed on one side. I wasn’t aware there was a £10 charge for the car park but I would recommend this hotel.

Very warm welcome, the gentleman on the desk has great customer service. Cosy double room was amazing. Plenty of space. Was a strong smell coming from the sink after everytime it was used. Toilet seat was wonky and held on at top with 2 screws. These were our only downfall

Some things done well , others not so. The room was beautifully decorated & fitted out but lack of natural light made it feel like a broom cupboard. The breakfast was very poor, no menu for cooked items, the waitress said there were so few items it was not worth having a menu, she listed a few items none of which I eat. It felt like a 1 star guest house at breakfast.

While the bedroom was clean, tidy and comfortable, plus the bathroom had an excellent shower, I did not expect to have to pay £10 to use the car park overnight. It was cheaper to pay for an overnight stay in the public car park directly outside the hotel. There was no folder in the room detailing the hotel's facilities; neither was there a tv-based guide, as some hotels now have. There are two restaurants - Turner's, advertising an a la carte menu, and Massey's - the bar. However, on investigation, bar staff told me that the menu was exactly the same in Turner's! Breakfast was £12.50 per person, and the lack of a plate warmer meant that by the time replacement scrambled/fried eggs had been put out on the serve-yourself buffet, the rest of the items on my plate were cold. All staff were very pleasant and helpful, but if I go to Kings Lynn again, I'll be staying elsewhere.

Shaver socket in bathroom did not work and no sockets near a mirror to use an adapter. Washbasin in bathroom did not have a plug. Previous damp on bedroom wall not rectified, plaster in a poor condition. Not the standard expected from a four star hotel.
