深井酒店(The Stepwell Hotel)

The rooms were a total mess. Not cleaned at all, it was smelly, there was trash of previous guests lying around, bathrooms were old and no hot water available, towels weren't properly cleaned as well, ceilings also weren't in the best condition. They refused to let us pay with card even though their payment condition on *********** stated that payments via multiple types of cards was available. Cash payment wasn't mentioned at all. Our whole group got the impression of them pulling a fraud. We were supposed to stay for four nights, we then decided to check out after two nights as we wanted to avoid being involved in possible illegal activities. We paid for those two nights in cash. Now, two days after our checkout, I received an email by *********** that the accomodation told them we didn't show up at their place to check in. That is a straight lie. We have proof of everything. If you want to have a pleasant stay at Jodhpur, we who***eartedly advice you not to stay with Stepwell House/Haveli. They are a fraud and can not be trusted!

Its an old haveli located in the fort, with easy access to the old city and cafes and restaurants. While the location is good, the comforts and luxuries are missing despite paying a heavy price during the Sacred Sufi Festival. The rooms are basic and spartan. There are no elevators and really high steps so if your legs give you trouble, avoid staying here. Breakfast at Stepwell's affiliated Raas hotel (a 3 minute walk away) was magnificent. Would I stay here again ? Heck no !

An attractive fusion of the traditional and the modern, a modern take on a traditional building. Charming and helpful staff - three in particular. We can rememember two names: ***agers T***n Kumar and Ajaj.

If you want to stay inside old city, then this is one of good option which gives you a good view of stepwell. The hotel has been renovated recently and it seemed some work was on going, also the ***agement has changed, so some older reviews may not be applicable as off Dec 2023. The rooms are cozy and comfortable, the staff is very friendly and helpful. Some travellers may miss TV in the room and an elevator to go up but I was ok with those two not being present. Morning breakfast was served at Stepwell Cafe which is mix of cold breakfast selection (mainly juices and cereal)and hot dishes made to order (eggs, paratha etc) - food was great and the cafe is something to enjoy all day long with a view of stepwell and Mehrangarh fort. Fort is visible only from cafe’s top level sitting. Special mention to ***ager Aijaj Khan for spectacular customer service.

Stepwell House Jodhpur is located next to Toor ka Jhalra, which gives a pleasant experience with very nice view. Staff here is very courteous, best Hospitality. Breakfast served in stepwell cafe is best with variety and taste.

Architecturally speaking, its good from the outside. BUT the property was under construction when we reached there. It was dusty, messy, had workmen all over the first 2 floors. We were on the 4th floor which meant a long walk upstairs. The view from the room and the attitude of the staff made up for most of the issues. But had they extended us the courtesy of giving us a heads-up about the ongoing work, accessibility within the property and accessibility to the hotel itself it would have been appreciated. It was a single-handed attempt from my end to navigate and make the room more livable, to figure out how to reach there etc. There were some power cuts, and water related issues some of which could have been unforeseen, but some were definitely due to the on-going work. Jodhpur by itself is beautiful and messy. There is much to do and discover if we put aside our expectations for clean streets. But when the stay is also messy, a dusty hotel, small insects coming in, a poor bathroom, no tables, chairs, benches or a cupboard for any kind of luggage it was a bit too much, specially since it was my first time there.

Although the hotel's location was ideal, there is the lack of comfort. A dirty restroom was waiting for us upon arrival, which was a major turnoff. We told the staff of our misfortune and were provided a different room, but when we arrived at the new room, we saw that it had not been cleaned at all. There were dirty bed sheets all over the floor and some used toilet paper down (I didn't even bother to peek in the bathroom). Following this, we opted to remain in the first room offered to us, as it was just for two nights. I awarded it two stars instead of zero since it is situated just in front of the step well. Not recommending it; I'm sure there are finer accommodations out there.

I loved my stay at stepwell house. Everything was good , staff is very helpful, food is good specially their coffee. Got good background for my yoga photoshoot. I would love to stay again ,surely recommend this to you all
