海浪酒店(Beachcombers Hotel)

After reading some of the poor reviews before we went all I can say is that the people must have been staying in a different hotel. From our early arrival on the first day we have had nothing but first class service from all staff at the hotel. They really can’t do enough for you and are always happy and smiling. Our room was large and clean and fully equipped with hair dryer, ironing board etc. Breakfast was superb and plentiful. The full english was top class. All in all it helped to make our stay in Jersey A fantastic experience.

The Beachcombers hotel is in the quiet suburb of Grouville which is near Gorey Pier. We arrived at the hotel by bus and took the No.15 from the airport to St Helier and then the No.2 to the Beachcombers. It has to be said that on arrival the view of the hotel from the road was a little off putting as the front garden looked a bit sad and neglected, however we were quickly reassured as the rest of the hotel and grounds appeared nice and well maintained. The hotel is spotlessly clean with large comfortable beds. The breakfasts really nice And the bacon and sausages were very good quality, there is also fruit and cereals to choose from. The hotel staff are hard working and friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them. There is a well stocked co-op five minutes walk down the road and prices were ok. We used the bus to get around the island and the No.2 which runs between St Helier and Gorey Pier stops right outside the hotel which was very convenient. Some nice places we visited the were St Helier, Gorey Pier, St Aubin and Corbiere lighthouse, I’m sure there are many other lovely places but we ran out of time. Buses are frequent and nowhere is far away. It costs £2.25 per journey or you can get a bus pass from the main bus station. Closer to the hotel is the Royal Bay of Grouville, this is a surreal beach with rocky outcrops resembling a canyon. Take the N.o1 bus from Gorey Pier to St Helier as it runs along the coast affording good views of the bay. Check your mobile network provider covers phone usage in Jersey as I don’t think many do even if you have a data plan. I topped up with £30 credit and it lasted approx 6 hours without even using my phone. After that I relied on Wi-Fi which was only intermittent in the room. All in all we really enjoyed our 3 night stay at the Beachcombers and wouldn’t hesitate to go back.

Cadre agréable et hôtel très bien situé. Mais chambres et SDB veillottes et très petites. Il y a un vrai manque d'entretien à l'intérieur comme à l'extérieur de l'hôtel (grillage terrain de tennis arraché, encombrants divers et variés sur le parking...). Petit déjeuner médiocre dans une salle très bruyante. Cet hôtel ne vaut pas 3 étoiles! Nous avions un avoir Covid datant de mai 2020 que l'hôtel a toujours refusé de nous rembourser malgré nos multiples demandes. Nous avions réservé en mai 2020 1 chambre quadruple et 1 chambre triple (7 personnes) pour 3 nuits. Nous avons utilisé notre avoir et dû rajouter 150€ pour 2 nuits (5 personnes). L'augmentation des prix est honteuse et non justifiée. Grosse déception pour cet hôtel que nous ne recommandons pas.

Excelente desayuno y de calidad. Muy buen trato recibido de todo el personal. Ubicado en zona tranquila y accesible de forma rapuda a GOREY, LA ROCQUE, ST HELIER. . Lo recomendamos absolutamente.

Friendly and comfortable. reception staff were very welcoming from the moment that we arrived and were interactive whenever we met them. Staff throughout were all a delight to interact with.

Staff were very helpful. Heated swimming pool was a pleasure to use. Room was clean, everything functioned and the shower worked well. Some inner courtyard areas were untidy and/or dirty, which spoiled the generally good impression.

Loved the library area. The bar was set in lines so challenging to make conversation. All staff very friendly and helpful.

One night . Room was fine slightly noisy in the corridor and open to the entrance . Reception staff very good .

Not very clean at all. The furniture was deeply stained in all the public areas. The public areas were shabby with the exception of the dining room. The bar area had not been hoovered but seats and furniture worn and shabby. The first room we were given smelt damp. We were moved to a new room which was very spacious, pool view and nice. Lots of hairs in the bathroom and all the grout needed a spray of bleach which would have made it much more clean and appealing. Didnt use the pool as it was full of leaves and i wasnt confident it was clean. The sunbed covers and towels were in good condition. Also the food was excellent and the dining room very nice. The staff in all areas were exceptionally polite and helpful. We had interactions with Reception, Cleaners, Bar and Dining room and none of them could be faulted for their friendliness and very willing to help. Food also very good.
