西園飯店(The West Park Hotel)

We arrived and waited an eternity to be checked in, really not sure how it could take so long. We could have done with a coffee whilst we had to wait. We visit hotels every month and have never seen anything like it. The rooms were then assigned incorrectly, and the bills were wrong. The rooms were very nice, but the air conditioning was very noisy. In other hotels we usually have breakfast in ten minutes including a hot breakfast. Having cold breakfast whilst we wait for the hot to be prepared. Then quick check out and off to our meetings. Here we sat down and had to go through an ordering system for everything. Firstly, sat doing nothing whilst we wait for someone to take the drinks order. Eventually coffees arrive and we can then order the next round, then more waiting whilst that arrives. The whole process took a long time and my guests were fed up with the process so we left without having everything we would usually have had. Moreover it then made us late for our first meeting. If you are booking a room without breakfast then you have half a chance. Otherwise good luck!

This is a fabulous small hotel perfectly situated within a short walk from Harrogate centre. On arrival, we were upgraded to a beautifully spacious room situated at the front of the hotel. It is quite a busy road, but that did not disturb us or detract from the lovely surroundings. It was a little warm in our room and we could have bothered reception to see if the air-con could be altered (it may have been our own incompetence though!), but an excellent dyson fan was in one of the two wardrobes which served us brilliantly. Attention to detail is high, both in interior design and cleanliness. Bottled water, sparkling and still, was available in the room and replenished the next day of our two night stay. Lovely L'Occitane toiletries, again replenished as were the good quality towels. Superb freshly cooked breakfast, was enjoyed on both mornings and we ate in the restaurant one evening which again was delicious, a wonderful Harrogate Blue cheese souffle being particularly good! Convenient overnight parking (not part of the hotel) in a locked carpark around the corner from the hotel, was really handy. The professionalism of all the staff we encountered is akin to some very swish London hotels we have been fortunate to frequent and radiates throughout the hotel. We have no hesitation in highly recommending The West Park Hotel, other than it may make it difficult to rebook as its reputation continues to grow! Thank you for a lovely few days.

Excellent stay at the West Park Hotel. Stray suite was a great size, huge bathroom with a deep bath and lovely L’Occitane toiletries. Lots of plug points, room very well thought out and spotlessly clean. Staff were all super helpful and friendly. Really enjoyed the strawberrry daiquiris too! Will definitely be back.

Everything was great, we stayed in room 106. Easy cheap convenient parking, friendly check-in, nice medium sized room, deep bath, L’Occitane toiletries. Bath robe and slippers, coffee machine, magazines, balcony; everything was nice. Breakfast the next morning also friendly service, fruits and yoghurt, eggs Benedict, Earl Grey tea. We would stay again - paid £175, Sunday night, incl breakfast, July 23. Highlight for me was service - professional, human, upbeat, willing and friendly. Thanks for a super stay. We often travel Norwich to Edinburgh and break the journey in Harrogate so perhaps see you again.

We had a lovely one night stay in this hotel. The room was spacious and clean. Very friendly staff and easy check in process. The room itself was very quiet. We didn't get a chance to dine but the bar / restaurant area looked very modern and pleasent. Central location, we walked into the main town for food and drinks.

We had a private room in the hotel. There were sixteen of us. Everything was done well, drinks and food were great. The staff were all very helpful and friendly. Everybody was well looked after. We will hope to do the same next year and would certainly come back to the West Park!

Hotel is excellent, located brilliantly for strolling around Harrogate, staff really helpful and both breakfast and evening meal lovely. The only thing that I could slightly complain about was the height of the shower in the bath…. Beware if you are over 6ft2….!!! But you can get a bath…!!!

Great location opposite the Stray park and very near to the shopping streets and restaurants . Booked business trip last minute so was allocated an accessible room as fully booked which wasn’t an issue as the shower area was well designed so didn’t ‘flood ‘ the floor.However the extractor with bathroom light stays in for at least 15 minutes after switching off and was very loud. Toilet was not clean on arrival but the receptionist was quick to sort this out herself.

Superb food and service in the restaurant Bed and covers comfy but huge noise all night from generator or similar outside room 105 slept about two hours - dissatisfied as it was my birthday I was shattered !
