I am not one to write reviews, in this instance I feel something needs to be said. I am baffled as to how this hotel has a 4+ rating. My son (23) who was supposed to stay there August 21st, (he made a booking on-line with his CC in mid July). He was going to stay there because my daughter goes to Colorado Mesa Universtiy in GJ and he was helping her move into her 1st apartment for the upcoming school year. He went to check in to this hotel and wanted to use his debit card to pay, the owner of the hotel (whom was working the front desk) told him he would not accept a debit card. My son asked if he could give them mine and my husband's CC # for the booking and he said "no, only the person staying can pay for the room). We spoke our son on the phone (my husband and I were out of town) he told us this and that he was treated badly and now had no place to stay since all the hotels were booked due to all the students moving in that weekend. We called the hotel just ask if we could give him our CC# for the room and he told us the same thing. He asked what business it was of ours, was very rude impolite. My husband got on the phone with him and asked to speak to a manager and he hung up on my husband. We called right back and no answer (3x) then he finally answered again and when my husband asked again if he could speak to the manager he said he was the owner! He ended up hanging up on my husband again, it was so frustrating. We finally found another hotel 3x the price of this one, but my son and we were treated very well and they did not have a problem with us charging the room on our credit card. We have read some other reviews of this place and here and there you see the comments on how rude this man and his wife who own it are and the weird things they do. Pay attention, read those reviews and take them to heart. Not sure how he got the good reviews, this man is crazy! Avoid at all costs!

We stayed here one night while passing through Grand Junction on a road trip. It was a lovely motel with all the amenities one might need. Very comfortable bed, updated bathroom, lovely furnishings. The owner/hostess was very welcoming and helpful.

This is a 50s style motel, one story with rooms around a parking area. Very retro, but our room was okay, albeit small. The wall AC worked okay. Shower/tub and bathroom were small but they worked too. Wifi was fine. Just fine if you are okay with retro. How retro? The rooms have keys!

Old style one-story motel where you park outside the room. Friendly check-in (by owner I believe). Limited check-in hours which end at 10:30 pm. Rooms are nicely decorated and clean, with all appliances and wifi working well including the A/C. Nice linens and bedding was comfortable. No breakfast is offered and the pool did not appear to be open. This seems to be a somewhat sketchy part of Grand Junction but I had no issues during my stay. (I always remove any valuables overnight if I get this kind of vibe). I believe the price is reflective of the accommodation relative to other choices in Grand Junction. I would stay there again.

We always stay here when in Grand Junction. The rooms are so clean and comfortable and the owner is very kind. Nice firm beds with high quality bedding and pillows. The bathrooms are big enough, and immaculate, including the shower curtain. Nice tv and high speed internet. Downtown is a quick drive or uber up the road. The price is beyond reasonable! Highly recommend !!

We stayed here overnight in October. Palomino is an older style motel but we found it clean, tidy and comfortable. The check in staff were friendly and helpful. Our room had a good size fridge/freezer which we used, plus good TV and WIFI. The shower was nice and hot. We found the bed comfortable for a good night sleep. Despite being close to a busy road we were not disturbed by traffic noise. The bathroom being small had little room for toiletries, but as we only stayed overnight, not much of a problem. A good overnight stay here.

I attempted to pay for a two night stay for a relative who was in town. I was denied the opportunity because the person staying in the room is the one who has to use their credit card. Ridiculous really, turning down full up front payment. Not recommended if you are looking to have family stay in town, better to go somewhere else. Unfortunate

The Palomino is older and the pool is not open, but it's clean, comfortable, and very reasonably priced. The owners are on-site and take good care of the property and guests. Don't hesitate to stay there.
