沃爾瑟姆修道院萬豪德爾塔酒店(Delta Hotels Waltham Abbey)

This is a really lovely hotel with very good amenities. My only moan was that the car park is strictly pay no exceptions £4 to park your car at a hotel where you are staying seems a bit wrong. Although it wouldn’t necessarily put us off going again there are alternative hotels in the area that have free parking for guests.

A very disappointing stay. We had been assured connecting rooms when booking. Upon arrival, we were told none were available so we had to change to a single family room. There was a leak in the room which woke us up in the middle of the night. At breakfast, when giving my room number, I was told that it was not a room number where breakfast was included in the booking, even though I knew that it was. I said I would drop by the reception desk after having something to eat to resolve it. The officious lady at breakfast then decided to bother me again during breakfast to ask if I had gone to reception yet to clarify. After breakfast, I walked over to reception, and the same lady thought it acceptable to escort me over to reception to check. Since there was nobody at reception, I went back to my room in order to call reception to of course confirm that breakfast was included. On the way back to my room, I passed the engineer in the corridor on the way to look at the leak. I said we would check out shortly so he could deal with it thereafter. At that point, the engineer commented "well this is my last job, before I go back to bed as I am ill". I suggested it was better in that case that we don't come into contact whilst in the room. All-in-all, a rubbish experience.

We visited the Marriot Waltham Abbey last year December with a group of friends and had a great experience so we decided to go back again this year December. We had a terrible experience from the start. We were a group of 11 they booked us accessible rooms when non of us had a disability. We had our rooms booked away from each other which was a bit of a stretch. The only facility they had was a gym, in the email they only informed us about the pool not being in use. Most of us returned this time because we had a very good experience at the hotels facilities sauna/steam and the pool. This was so disappointing as we could have had a choice to go somewhere else. Our Xmas dinner got cancelled for Saturday and we were offered Friday 19.00 as an option. Most of us could not make the Friday we had to request for a private room because we didn’t want to cancel our Xmas party. This was granted but there was so much confusion with the menus. Thanks to Casper who managed us that night he was very patient and understanding. The rooms were very cold with no AC we were offered radiators but the rooms we were given have only 2 sockets. I don’t think I can refer any one unless otherwise. On the other hand we met with some staff who were kind and very welcoming. Big up to Cameron the Night manager and your team. You made us comfortable though the conditions were out of your hands

Terrible, absolutely terrible. I checked in and wasn't told when dinner or breakfast were being served. I got to my room after a very long day of driving and meetings just wanting to crash in front of the TV for a bit, except it wasn't working. Just a blank screen. I rang reception, twice, but they didn't answer. So I went down there and was just fobbed off. "A problem in the area" they said, yet the TVs in the bar were on, nobody else had complained of a faulty TV, so I find it very hard to believe a fault in the area just ruined my TV alone. She then admitted that Maintenance knew about the faulty TV, but they've left for the day so nothing could be done until the next day! Incredibly, she then said "I can give you adult films on your TV if you want?" and started laughing hysterically. The other receptionist flippantly said "just watch Netflix on your phone like a normal person". The next morning I spoke to someone else on reception about a refund, and she said the Hotel Manager would deal with it when he finished his meeting in 10mins time. So I went and had some breakfast, freshened up and checked out about an hour later. Only to be told the Manager was still in a meeting. She went out the back to speak to him, but he refused to come and speak to me and just told me, via her, to take it up with *******. She then turned and started speaking to someone else. Abysmal hotel, abysmal service.

Hotel needs to look at its condition and especially the dusty musty smell on the ground floor bedrooms and hallway. Shower was broken so could only be used as a hand shower and aircon noisy so not a good nights sleep. Restaurant, food and service all excellent.
