After a long drive from Kalgoorlie and not many stops along the way, we got to this resort and went to reception. We were greeted with "oh you're early", (it was 1.20 and check in was 2pm) and that we would need to wait as receptionist had stepped out. Husband and I both needed the toilet (we could have stopped off on the road but decided we were nearly at our destination) so we asked to use the bathroom. We were told they didn't have a public bathroom and we would need to wait until we were in the room. We decided to upgrade to an ocean view room with spa. It was only an extra $65 so we thought why not. The room was very cold and basic. The tiny balcony was unusable for two people and dirty. You can hardly call it a kitchen as there was only a microwave, fridge, crockery and sink. There was a big sign saying wash your dishes before you leave. The main door had a huge gap at the bottom letting in a lot of cold air. We were extremely disappointed to discover blankets on the bed. In this day and age? I was also surprised the next day when we saw the open linen cupboard in the corridor had lots of clean towels but not a lot of clean blankets. Are they getting changed after every guest? I can't prove it, but husband and I both ended up with scabies after our visit, which is something I wouldn't wish on my mortal enemy. The spa bath was tiny, stained and downright dangerous to get in and out of, which you had to in order to shower. The spa bath (not that we would want to use it) was only permitted between 9am and 9pm due to the noise of it. Talking about noise. You can hear everything through the paper-thin walls. The room upstairs sounded as if it had a hoard of baby elephants living in it. You can hear people talking, using the shower and even.....using the bathroom. You can hear every coming and going on the external stairs outside the front door also. The bedroom had no ceiling fans or aircon and you needed to keep the bedroom door open to allow the RCAC unit from the living room to work. There was a paltry offering of shampoo/conditioner and shower gel. Three tiny little tubes. There was also an antiquated hairdryer attached to the wall, if you needed three days to dry your hair. There was no lamp in the living room only a big glaring ceiling light. On the 2nd night, the TV didn't work when we returned to our room after a meal in town. Reception was a good walk away at the front of the resort and no phones in room to call, so we decided just to go to bed. Considering what they are charging (it was way overpriced), I would have expected a lot more. We won't be returning to this facility and suggest you look elsewhere for accommodation in Esperance.
