維納霍夫酒店(Hotel Wienerhof)

Vriendelijke ontvangst met thee, toen ik ‘s avonds om 19.30 incheckte voor het hotel. Kamer aan voorkant met veel lawaai van auto’s, scooters. Leeslampje bij bed is niet te bedienen uit bed. Je kunt het alleen uitdoen als je de elektriciteit van het centrale gedeelte uitschakelt waarmee je alles uitschakelt. Je kunt dus ‘s avonds alleen met alle lichten aan tv kijken of lezen. Gangen benauwend, staan volgestouwd met griezelige grote eiken kasten. Wel uitstekend en schoon sanitair. Goed ontbijt. Maar jammer dat er wel een toaster is maar dat de toaster niet aangesloten is op een stopcontact, sterker nog, er is geen stopcontact in de buurt. Een medewerker moest mijn boterham ergens achter in de keuken toasten en vergat vervolgens mij de getoaste boterham te brengen.

As option 1 of 2 because of full hotels I chose this one.. When I arrived I did not know if I entered a bar or hotel.. Got the room, looked very dirty and old.. Bathroom with bugs etc.. Poor heating on the room and only heat source in the bathroom was the drier for towels.. A lot of noise during evening/night..

Friendly staff at the Weinerhoff hotel and location is great for town centre (shops / restaurants) and train station but really over priced for what I’d call a very low 3 star hotel. Food is also below average unfortunately and breakfast not the best. Bottomless coffee is a bonus as there are some lovely areas inside to sit

Pillow of rubbleised foam lumps, lights so dim you cant see the key board With the lights on, room not serviced on a 2 night stay, breakfast terrible. Builders working from 7am wont be back

Stayed at the Wienerhof on two separate occasions for one night while going to/returning from an offshore job. The hotel is clean, friendly and has all amenities required. Rooms are ok for one or two nights but I wouldn’t want to stay for an extended period due to room size

We missed out on the last ferry (of the day) to Texel and the host, Tordes (hope I spelt your name correctly?), welcomed us for a very late booking at reception at 10pm. Not only did he offer a welcome drink on arrival, but we were given a free upgrade to the suite from the standard room. The suite was very clean and spacious. It included a very spacious "open-concept" bathroom area (perfect for couples) with a bathtub and shower (hot and cold water), and a balcony overlooking part of the city. The bed had a white curtain canopy and gave us the best sleep of our entire Netherlands trip - thanks to a quality mattress and pillow. Despite having a very loud neighbour and being close to the train station, we experienced no noise. We stayed here on a Friday night, and couldn't hear anything from dusk until dawn, even with windows open. If you like an accommodation with old world charm, and in a good location, definitely check out Hotel Wienerhof. If we had another night in Den Helder, we would stay here again. Check-in and check-out was very smooth. We were in/out in less than 5 minutes. And we felt our host, Tordes was very friendly and kind. Thank you for our stay! Michael
