problem pool .need hand rail to hold on to getting in and out of pool,for older persons

The grounds and public areas of this hotel are beautiful and very well maintained. Our 2 bedroom/2 bathroom apartment was clean and well equipped but unfortunately was on the ground floor with only a small ***** of sky visible from the lounge and main bedroom. The second bedroom was a bit like sleeping in a cave. I would recommend requesting a room with a view of the pool (or the street). Disappointing that bathroom amenities were not eco friendly - hopefully that will change in the near future.

Overall we were very impressed with this hotel and the standard of service provided. During our stay we tried both dining options - the bar downstairs and the upstairs restaurant. In both cases we felt the standard of food and service to be very good. My only negative point was that there was only one disabled parking space and on one occasion I had to park outside on the road as there were no parking spaces available onsite. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Beautiful resort in the middle of town,easy walking distance to everything.The staff were all really friendly.The pool was lovely.

Great overnight stop after doing the Bloomfield Track. It does actually look like a resort! Room had a view of the bay and pool.

Good - in the middle of town. Clean. Bad - the pool. There were no adequate steps to get in or out of the pool. No hand rails. It is not a pool for anyone with any knee, leg or mobility issues. I found the odd in this day and age of inclusion. Disappointing. A handrail would take so little to add.

Sovereign is a lovely resort with very comfortable rooms. I also thoroughly enjoyed a delicious grilled coral trout in the casual dining area

Cooktown is a surprisingly delightful town. Would add it to the travel list. The Sovereign Resort Hotel centrally located, very comfortable and well appointed.

Lovely property.. second time staying here Highly recommend it
