Nice and clean!

Was quiet and near everything

I'm not a hard person to please when it comes to staying at a hotel. All I ask is one simple thing, wherever I go and that is that the room is clean. I don't need a ton of amenities, preferential treatment, etc. I just ask that if I'm paying you good money to sleep in a bed, that the room is clean and one of the biggest issues is NO PESTS. Roaches are a sign of filth, plain and simple and if you find them in your room, then clearly cleaning is at your lowest priority. We booked this place for 11/10-11/12 at a ridiculous rate of $633 because of the Dave Matthews Band Concerts in town. Ironically, this was our emergency booking as we had already had booked with the Royal Inn months ago for this weekend, a few blocks away. We entered that room and took photos of the roach nymphs on their bathroom door and left within 6 mins of checking in. We rebooked with this Super 8 via ******* in an emergency rush, knowing they were going to charge nearly triple the usual rate but that was fine as long as we didn't have to deal with pest and vermin. The first night seemed ok, we checked in late, slept and woke up the next morning and went on with our day. We came back late last night however and there was a nice little roach on the dresser above the fridge, trying to make it's way to our pizza we brought back in. I chased it behind the mini fridge and found a cache of them and a roach trap. So clearly, this was an ongoing matter. Hotel wouldn't move us and didn't offer a refund.

Pleasantly surprised! The hotel appeared to be recently renovated and as a result had nice rooms. Our room was very clean.

I was shown 2 different rooms on 2 different floors and both had roaches crawling on the wall.

I was denied the room I had reserved because I wanted to pay cash & pretty much told we could sleep in the car at 13°

Don’t like being woken up at 9am to room service people, was trying to sleep until almost check out time but didn’t cause they knocked on my door and woke me up

This is one of two go-to places for me when I visit Charlottesville and want to make it an economical trip. Excellent place to stay! It has come a long way since I was a cab driver in town and done a complete 180 of what it used to be like. The people are nice, the beds are clean and comfortable, everything made it a very enjoyable stay. The only thing they could improve would be water pressure but I have a feeling that has more to do with the shower nozzles than the actual pressure in the lines. Maybe a quick vinegar dip once a month or so would help. Other than that, A++ experience!
