Nous avons passé un très agréable séjour au blue ribbon dive resort. Nous avions une chambre vue mer, très propre, même si la chambre n'est pas neuve, elle est conforme aux photos et confortable. Le chauffe eau instantané était neuf : tout à fait fonctionnel. Le restaurant était très bon (cuisine locale, asiatique et internationale) pour un tarif correcte. Un distributeur d'eau potable en bidon était à disposition. Le personnel du resort était serviable et poli. Lors de notre réservation (contact direct par mail), tout c'est très bien passé, la discussion a été facile, ainsi que l'organisation, même jusqu'à notre transfert depuis l'aéroport) Côté plongée, locaux un peu vieux mais fonctionnel (largement suffisant pour nous). Une pièce sèche dédiée aux appareils photos avec de l'air comprimé pour sécher le matériel est un vrai plus. Les guides étaient très sympathiques, ils nous ont montré plein de choses. Nous n'avons jamais formé une palanquée de plus de 4 plongeurs. En général nous étions 6 à 8 clients sur le bateau pour 2 dive Master. Le seul petit bémol serait la gestion de la courbe de plongée, avec des plongées carrées à 20 m, pour les gros consommateurs d'air comme moi, rendant difficile l'atteinte d'une heure de plongée. Nous n'avons pas testé la location du matériel car nous sommes venus équipés. Les divemasters été très sympathique et très à l'écoute de nos désirs. La plongée de nuit dans le port d'anilao et à faire absolument ! Merci à toute l'équipe pour ce séjour réussi.

Ne pas y aller pour le confort ou la propreté des chambres. Les toilettes/ douches ne doivent jamais être lavées au vu de la poussière et de la crasse que nous avons trouvé. Et que dire de l'odeur nauséabonde en permanence ! Côté cuisine c'est raisonnable assez bon ... mais nous n'avons pas été voir si l'état de la cuisine ressemblait à nos sanitaires! Les tables ne sont pas lavées régulièrement et les dessous de table comporte des restes du repas précédent. Aucune décoration florale dans les parties communes et le seul lieu de détente est sur un canapé pouff dans lequel je n'ai pas osé me mettre car cela doit faire longtemps qu'il n'a pas été nettoyé. COTE PLONGÉE : Les installations sont basiques et abîmées ( pour prendre une douche dehors c'est tout 1 art pour ouvrir le robinet)... et le local " sec" est bourré de matériel électrique non rangé ( à qui est-il... a quoi sert-il) . NÉANMOINS le personnel bien qu'un peu timide est très serviable. Les dive Master sont sympa aussi ...mais nous aurions préféré ne mais faire partie d'une palanquee de 6 plongeurs ! Il nous ont montrent des choses vraiment sympas que nous n'aurions spas vu sans eux. Je pense que le patron devrait donner des directives fermes et prendre mieux en main son établissement s'il souhaite voir continuer son affaire.

We dived with Blue Ribbon in Jan-24, staying at a nearby hotel but often ate at Blue Ribbon’s restaurant. Diving It was my first trip to the Philippines, and Anilao was definitely the right choice for a good combo of macro and coral dive sites. A smallish dive centre, with a good set up and some great dive guides who did their best to find us all the best critters. We got to know the other guests there too (some people stayed just a few days before moving on to other destinations) whereas we stayed in Anilao for 2 weeks, so we got to chat to a fair few people. As well as our day boat dives, we did a couple of night dives at Anilao Pier which I’d highly recommend - everything comes out at night, and we were lucky enough to see hummingbird bobtail squid, hairy frogfish, and various ghost pipefish. Sea temp in Jan was chillier than I’d like (25-26 most days) but with my 3.5mm wetsuit and hood it was just warm enough, next time I’d come later in the year for less exposure gear. They do rent 3mm suits as well as pretty much every other piece of dive kit, which looked in good nick - we just tend to bring all our own. Restaurant We ate breakfast at Blue Ribbon every day pre morning dive, both the American and English breakfasts were very tasty, and good coffee too. Donna the waitress was brilliant and always remembered how we like our food & drinks, in fact she really makes the place. We ate there most evenings too (which involved braving the MANY steps up from BR to the road twice a day - which certainly kept us fit!) which is testament to Blue Ribbon’s food quality. I especially liked the Hawaiian pizza 😃 Vibe Jonathan the owner was very friendly and was really responsive to any issues raised, which was appreciated. We enjoyed seeing the resident dogs everyday, Shadow, Billy and Mushka, as well as next door’s golden retriever puppy who I think was called Bobo - who lolloped about and was quite entertaining. Ok I'll start with the negative first. No hot water on most days very frustrating after a few dives when you are chilled. Wanted my room cleaned one time and they never came, annoying. 1st night I went down for dinner someone at the table next to me was getting a pedicure in the restaurant with toenail clipping flying around! Gross thankfully none landed in my food. The restaurant is small and they allow smoking it smells and you cannot get away from it, not fare to non smokers. Cats and dogs all over but they are well behaved. Beer can be colder. Place can use some upgrades paint cleaning and fix the crumbling steps. If you like to sunbath not the place for you no chairs by the pool or on the rocky beach. Good stuff Food was good and the portions were very big and a lot of variety on the menu, and Donna the server is so sweet! The dive crew are awesome from the boat captain to his helper. Jeff the divemaster is awesome he watches out for everyone and if you don't have enough weight to get down he is right there with extra weight! They go to a variety of spots for muck and reef dives. Shout out to Jeff nd Dan for being some of the best spotters anywhere!

We loved Blue Ribbon - a small hotel designed for divers. The diving was excellent and Jeff was a first class frogfish spotter (although we tried but ultimately failed to find a waddling one...). All the staff working at the hotel/dive centre were kind, friendly and hard-working. The rooms are basic but you have everything you need, and the bed was comfortable. We particularly enjoyed the food offered by the restaurant. For such a small hotel there really was an exceptionally large menu and everything we ate we would have re-ordered. We recommend.

I stayed 3 nights at 'Blue Ribbon Dive Resort' in Mabini to get some diving done in Anilao. The room I stayed in was quite basic but I never came thinking it was a 5 Star Luxury resort. What is it is a super friendly resort run by divers for divers... So basically you are coming here for quality diving with experienced guides and this resort delivers that in spades. It is run by a British guy (Jon) who is friendly, fair and fun with a team around him who are superb. All the staff at Blue Ribbon were excellent. Attentive and friendly both at the resort and on the dive boat (Bangka). My room was comfortable (great bed and great Air-Con) and clean, my only comment being that the bathroom could do with a bit of an upgrade. The food at the resort is first class. I ate from the local Filipino menu every day and all my meals were delicious, good portion size and affordable. If you want a burger, pizza, etc this is all available to. There is also a well stocked bar with a beautiful sea view, particularly so at sunset. As for the diving, this was superb and reasonably priced at 1800php per dive. In the 2 days I dived I did 4 dives each day and spent a total of 8 Hours 50 Minutes underwater. We dived a different site each dive and the resort guides, (Jeff and Dang), were both superb, as was Ogie their Dive Master. I had some of my own kit and rented some resort kit and everything I had was in good order and everything felt safe and organised... Relaxed diving. The amount of marine life and unique Anilao 'critters' were amazing and I will definitely be returning to Blue Ribbon March/April 2024. Keep it up Jon - Just what a diver (well this diver) wants from a resort. Superb.

A sweet little place run by lovely people. I accidentally dropped my dive computer as I was checking out and they immediately sent it over to where I went next—before I could even message them about it! Thank you BR ❤️ You saved me! Also, I appreciated the low-key vibes, and that it caters to both international and local divers. I’m always on the lookout for accommodations that aren’t overly developed—for environmental reasons—and it had all the basics I needed, plus a camera room for photographers! It’s perfect for young people seeking a chill getaway. Highly recommend their fresh mango and calamansi shakes/slushies too 😋 Definitely coming back for those…and obviously the super spectacular dive sites! 🤩
