The check in process was awkward, this a 4 star hotel and you have to open your own doors, bring your own luggage all the way up to your room in what seemed the slowest elevator en Athens. In addition, I had to explain what type of reservation I had made, the fact I was a VIP platinum member and they honestly didn’t care. The gave me a standard room with 2 twin beds that moved apart when you simply moved in bed. The bathroom was so tiny you could barely get in the shower without tripping over the toilet. When I got to the room, The mini fridge was opened, hot and empty.
Except for the nice lady and man the following morning after we checked in (at the front desk ) , most other employees acted as if there were bothered you had a question or needed assistance with city logistics. We stayed at the Athens Gate a few nights before, my recommendation is for the hotel management to stay there to learn what proper and good service looks like and apply it to the Hera hotel.
Thank you
