阿克雷裏酒店(Hotel Akureyri)

This is a quirky family run hotel, and first impressions were good. We stayed in the building that was once a cinema, and the styling of the entrance and the hallway was on theme and quite well done. Our room was quite small - although the largest in that particular part of the hotel - and was fine for our needs. The first impression when walking in was great, but when we looked closer we realised how dusty the room was. It looked like it hadn't been properly cleaned for weeks. With so much quirky styling in the room, it appears that the staff don't move anything when cleaning it. It was strange to have electronic check-in and check-out, but the code-entry to the room was easy and actually great to not have to remember your key all the time. Compared to many hotels in Iceland, this was far more affordable, and provided probably the best value for money of our whole trip.

So originally, we booked the Hrafninn House and when we arrived, it looked great- a small room in a quaint house. Shortly after we arrived, we noticed there was something wrong with the toilet and we called the contact number for assistance. The woman that answered gave us a new room - an apartment at the hotel. It was great- clean and comfortable with a fantastic view. We would stay again given the prompt attention to the issue and the clean and comfortable rooms.

Hotel was good and cozy. The breakfast good, but way too expensive. Not a buffet and maybe not even related to the hotel. Check-in and out was completely automated. Good parking place next to the hotel. Maybe in a year or so the view from the hotel will diminish as a new building covers the nice view.

Quarto ruim. Mal distribuído, apertado, chuveiro péssimo com a cortina que não fechava o box por completo. Pouquíssimas tomadas. A corda da cortina ficava num lugar de péssimo acesso. Foi uma dificuldade para fechar a cortina. Sem elevador e tivemos que subir até o 3o andar com as malas pelas escadas.

«+» New and updated hotel. Nice location close to the heart of town. Electronic code locking system to open room’s door. Easy! Simple but pretty designed room, it felt nice there. Comfortable bed. Good bathroom amenities. Super fast Wi-Fi. Plenty of free parking near the hotel.   «-» Pretty small room. Very limited space in the bathroom. Little uncomfortable shower. Tiny bed. Poor plug situation in the room.

Hotel ottimo per la posizione ma carente in tutto il resto. Durante il soggiorno di 4 notti ti cambiavano solo gli asciugamani . Non rifacevano il letto, non aspiravano la stanza e non pulivano il bagno. La carta igienica era solo una e non la cambiava. Dovevamo prendersela da soli. La polvere era ovunque. Igiene zero

Me and my hubby had a great stay. Everything was perfect, good service, clean room and great location. Breakfast was delicious, we had smoothie, oatmeal and a toast. Great touch with the guitar, as I got my private concert. We highly recommend hotel Akureyri.

This is a decently appointed albeit on the small side accommodation. We got stuck in Egilstaddir for a few hours with the closure of the Ring Road segment connecting to Akureyri. We pushed our Hotel Akureyri check in for a day thinking that we might have to spend another night in Egilstaddir. The hotel was very accommodating due to the circumstance. When the road opened back up, we rushed up the mountains and headed to Akureyri. We showed up after 7 PM and the owner (I believe it was) received us and changed our check in dates back to our original booking. No hassles. What great hospitality! The property is a short walk to town proper and within easy walkable access to restaurants. I strongly recommend Eyja and their delicious Nordic cuisine. I will stay at Hotel Akureyri when I’m back in these parts of Iceland. I will time it with their restaurant’s open days. It’s amazing that they grow their own veggies in one of the buildings close to the hotel. Very sustainable. I love that about the place. And the view of the bay is defunct a huge plus. It was refreshing waking up to the bay view as the rising sun clears through the fog. Very memorable mornings!!!

Muy lindo hotel en Akureyri. Al costado de la Ruta 1, super fácil de encontrar. Parking al frente del hotel. Para el auto check-in, nos enviaron el código por mail y por sms. Habitación muy cómoda, con lugares para comer, bares y supermercados cercanos. El unico pero que le pondríamos es que el baño por momentos tenía un olor algo desagradable, pero no era una cuestión de limpieza o higiene, sino como de olor a cañerías/tuberías. Las vistas al lago y a la montaña eran hermosas. Té y café para prepar**** en la habitación. Volveríamos.
